Fossilt fuel i Norge, outcome and income
Majorities of fossile energy found on the Norwegian continental shelve is oil and gas reserves. During the 80s and 90s, the Norwegian oilindustry evolved too be the biggest income for the Norwegian government. With oil and fossile energy, there is generated infestating problems; mostly a rising amount of CO2 in the atmosphere. I Norway there is a limited resource of coal. It is only available on Svalbard. Since the discovery of North Sea oil in Norwegian waters during the late 1960s, exports of oil and gas have become very important elements of the Norwegian economy.
Norway is the eight largest oil exporter in the world.
The governtment has responsobility for handing out production licenses. If the well is succesfull, the Norwegian governtment will earn a pre-arranged share of the money earned from the oil /gas in the well.
